Attacking the Demon usually does nothing, but damaging Sokaku will dispell the Demon instantly. This can be pretty easy, because once Sokaku has summoned something he won't move for the rest of the round, even if the Demon does. However, The Demons from Sokaku's Super Maneuvers are larger than he is, which means you'd have to beat through them to hit Sokaku.
